ESEE Program Assessment
The ESEE program will soon be accountable for demonstrating criteria according to standards set by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). To learn more about CAEP, go to: http://caepnet.org/. At this time, CAEP has not yet been federally approved as the nation’s accrediting authority in teacher preparation. Until this occurs, and until we have re-designed our assessment system with college-wide guidance and support, we are maintaining a few key assessments that hold value for candidate learning:
1) ESEE 310: Family Project
2) ESEE 321: IEP
3) ESEE 312: Behavior Implementation Project
4) ESEE 332: Planning (EdTPA Rubrics 1-5)*
5) ESEE 341: Planning (EdTPA Rubrics 1-5)*
6) ESEE 352: Professional Dispositions*
Observation of Instruction (EdTPA Rubrics 6-10)*
7) ESEE 353: Professional Dispositions*
Observation of Instruction (EdTPA Rubrics 6-10)*
8) ESEE 354: Professional Dispositions*
Clinical Practice Evaluations*
Observation of Instruction (EdTPA Rubrics 6-10)*
Assessing Student Learning (EdTPA Rubrics 11-15)*
For course instructors teaching these courses, please see the Syllabi Samples for the assessment instructions and criteria, except for the “Planning Commentary” which uses the instructions and criteria set forth by EdTPA (see handbooks and guides under “Resources”).
For now, we will store these assessment products and scores in Laulima. For assessments with an asterisk (*) we are required to enter the data in the SIS system.
We look forward to developing the ESEE assessment system in the near future!
